¶ THE FARMING CYCLE
A farming cycle is created to record all information, activities, growth, costs, revenues, and profits related to a pond during a specific period, from pond preparation and stocking to harvest.
Each cycle is defined by the start, stocking/move and end time.
Note:
- Two cycles on the same pond must not overlap in start and end times.
- Before the crop starts, it is not possible to have the stocking/transfer time and end time.
¶ 1. New/ Pause Stage
The pond's status when there is no active cycle is known as "New Stage".
The beginning of this stage is usually when the pond is created or after a cycle is finished. The stage comes to an end when a new cycle starts.
¶ 2. Renovation Stage
This stage begins when a new cycle starts. During this stage, the focus is on tasks related to pond rehabilitation, cleaning, and stocking preparation.
One of the standard tasks is to record costs and prepare procedures for preparing ponds.
- Repairs
- Equipment maintenance
- Pond cleaning
- Pond drying
- Disinfection
- Water exchange
- Resolve issue
- Liming
- Probiotics culture
- Stocking register.
Moreover, the farmer can create custom tasks to track any additional costs or activities that occur in the pond, depending on the specific procedures of the farming region.
¶ 3. Stocking Stage
When the post-larval shrimp is ready to be released, the pond status changes to "Stocking stage" to record the information and activities involved in the stocking process:
- Environmental condition
- Check post-larval shrimp
- Count post-larval shrimp
- Stocking
The statuses of both the receiving and transfer ponds need to be set to “Stocking Stage” in order to select a cycle for the “Move pond” task.
After finishing the stocking task, the pond will be moved to the “Renovation stage”. The status of the pond will change to “Grow-out stage” when shrimp are moved from another pond using the “Move pond” task.
¶ 4. Nursery Stage
After completing the stocking task, the pond will transition to the "Nursery stage".
During this phase, tasks related to shrimp acclimatization and early management are carried out. In this stage, the following are the standard tasks for recording costs and processes:
- Check Shrimp health;
- Feed;
- Measuring shrimp size using TOMOTA S3;
- Environmental parameter measurement;
- Bacteria Analyses;
- Adding Mineral;
- Adding Probiotics;
- Water exchange/ Water treatment;
- Siphon;
- Resolve issue;
- Move pond.
Additionally, farmers may create custom tasks to record any other costs or activities that occur in the pond, depending on the specific practices of the farming region.
Once the transfer to another pond or the transition to the next phase is completed, the pond status will shift to the "Grow-out stage" (Giai đoạn nuôi).
¶ 5. Grow-out stage
The pond will enter the Farming Phase in the following cases:
- After performing the "Move Pond" task.
- Upon receiving shrimp from another pond (selected from the source pond during the "Move Pond" task).
- After transitioning to the “Nursery stage”.
- Automatically after 20 days in the Renovation stage, the system will transition to the “Grow-out stage”.
During this phase, various management tasks are carried out to ensure the growth and health of the shrimp. Some standard tasks to record costs and activities include:
- Check shrimp health;
- Feed;
- Measuring shrimp size using Tomota S3;
- Measuring environmental parameters using Tomota A3 / Sensors;
- Bacteria Analyses;
- Adding Mineral;
- Adding Probiotics;
- Water exchange / Water treatment;
- Siphon;
- Resolve issue;
- Harvest.
